Programs

Join the Human-Animal Support Coalition in fostering a compassionate community through our various supportive events! We organize microchip and vaccine clinics to promote pet health and safety, as well as mobile pet food pantries that provide essential supplies to those in need. Our educational materials empower pet owners with knowledge, ensuring every furry friend receives the care they deserve. Together, we can create a vibrant, caring environment for all pets and their families.

Mobile Food & Supply Pantries

Because of our community's generosity, we are able to offer mobile pet food and supply pantries to our neighbors in need. Throughout the year, we accept pet food and new and gently used pet supplies to be distributed to those in need. Visit our Get Involved page to find out what items we need most and where to drop them off.

Help for Homebound Clients

At the Human-Animal Support Coalition, we understand that not everyone can afford or has access to pet food and supplies. That’s why we’ve partnered with Helping Hands Ministry – Belton to deliver pet food directly to homebound clients. This program ensures that those who need a little extra support are also receiving support for their beloved pets. With your support, we can continue to bridge the gap for our community’s most vulnerable members.

Humane Education Creates Change

Education is the cornerstone of compassion. We promote the Kind News Magazine, published by RedRover.org, which focuses on instilling empathy and understanding towards animals in our community. This magazine provides essential information on proper animal care and encourages young readers to recognize the individuality of every creature. Inquire about receiving Kind News Magazine for your classroom or donate a subscription to a local classroom by filling out this Form

Advocacy for Modern Animal Sheltering

At the Human-Animal Support Coalition, we believe that saving lives in animal shelters requires a collaborative community effort. Our advocacy promotes responsible pet ownership and emphasizes the importance of affordable access to pet-related resources. We support the implementation of modern practices at animal shelters, such as the Association of Shelter Veterinarians’ Guidelines for Standards of Care, the Fear Free Shelter Program, and Community Cat Programs (trap-neuter-vaccinate-return) for outdoor, free-roaming cats. Community Cat initiatives are backed by House Bill 3660 in Texas and are recognized nationally as effective, humane solutions for managing outdoor cat populations. By contacting your local leaders, you can help us advocate for these life-saving programs in your community!

Lower-Cost Spay & Neuter

Spaying and neutering pets is one of the most effective ways to reduce overpopulation and prevent unwanted litters, ensuring fewer animals end up in shelters. Our Lower-Cost Spay & Neuter Program provides affordable options for pet owners, making it easier for everyone to access this vital service. By removing financial barriers, we’re helping to create a healthier community for pets while empowering owners to make responsible choices for their furry family members. Together, we can tackle the overpopulation crisis, one procedure at a time.

Lost Pet Reunification

Losing a beloved pet can be a devastating experience. Our Lost Pet Reunification Program is here to provide compassionate support and practical resources to help reunite lost pets with their families. From offering guidance on creating effective lost pet alerts to utilizing microchip technology and local networks, we’re dedicated to bringing pets home safely. This program is a vital part of our commitment to keeping people and pets together and reducing the number of animals entering shelters. Every reunion is a victory, and we’re here to ensure no pet gets left behind.
